This country is in the news ever since the new interim government of Bangladesh assumed power. The government of Bangladesh has faced heavy criticism amid attacks against Hindu minorities in the country.
Meanwhile, a claim is being made on social media that a group of Muslims in Bangladesh started fighting among themselves and this fight took the form of violence. It was also claimed that this violence took place over the Halala of a woman. But what is the truth of this claim? Is there any truth in these claims?
These claims were made on social media
Many users on social media platform A verified user named Dinesh Pratap Singh wrote in a post, There has been a fierce fight between the two groups of Tablighi Jamaat in Bangladesh for the last four days. Till now 12 people from both the sides have been killed. Halala from a beautiful woman. From there the dispute about who would do it started and after that the Tablighi Jamaat got divided into two parts. One part is saying that the theory of India’s Tablighi Jamaat chief Maulana Saad is correct and the other part is saying that the theory of Pakistan’s Tablighi Jamaat chief Maulana Tariq Jameel is correct."

What is the reality of the claim?
ABP News has fact checked this claim. We searched this claim on Google using some keywords like ‘Bangladesh, Halala, beautiful woman, violence in Muslim group’. But nothing concrete was found from these keywords. Then we searched screenshots of some frames of the viral video using Google reverse images. After which we got some old news. According to the news received from Google search, even though the video used in the viral claim is of violence, it is not a case of Halala. In these news written in Bengali language, it is written that there was a violent clash between two groups of Muslims over an event venue.
According to the news, one group is the follower of Maulana Saad Kandhalvi of Nizamuddin Markaz of New Delhi while the other group is the follower of Maulana Zubair Ahmed of Dhaka. There has been a clash between the two over control of the Vishwa Ijtema ground on the Turag coast of Tongi area. It was reported in the news that 4 people had also died.
Conclusion
We found in our investigation that the claims on social media about violent clashes between two groups for Halala of women are wrong and misleading. The real news is that this violence happened regarding the venue. Apart from this, the claim said that a total of 12 people had died but in reality 4 people had died. Apart from this, it was claimed that the groups in which violent clashes took place were that of India’s Tablighi Jamaat chief Maulana Saad and the other group belonged to Pakistan’s Tablighi Jamaat chief Maulana Tariq Jameel. But the real news is that one group is a supporter of Maulana Saad Kandhalvi of Nizamuddin Markaz of New Delhi while the other group is a supporter of Maulana Zubair Ahmed of Dhaka.
